Not too much progress lately as busy sorting out the Spax suspension. Seems all the German supplied kits don’t fit properly and no one has bothered sorting them out previously!

I had similar problems with the A310 4 Cylinder dampers. Apparently Spax have supplied loads to Germany but they simply don’t fit and no one has told them.

To compound matters there are two different OEM bolt sizes for the rear. One is an M9 shank reducing unhelpfully to an M8 thread same as the OEM front (try sourcing one of those quickly) and the other is a more sensible M10.

All fixed now!

Revised front dampers

Just collected the revised rear dampers from Spax. These now have the correct size fitting loop and bushes.

After a few revisions tweaking the shocks the rear suspension is starting to go back together

There was an issue with the dust boot jamming in the turret with the previous style boot

Simon auto still sells this version and the bottom bush is the wrong size too. You have been warned. Just because it’s for sale doesn’t mean it’s right or will fit. Lots of people selling stuff they have never tried or even fitted.

Here it is with the concertina boot which fits ok.
