After a meeting on Friday I have got my head round this a bit more and the push is on to get it done and to a fine finish .We are going to open up the sills and see what's there but apart from that it is rot free .
Get at all I can get at front ,middle and back and replace or renew as required .
Engine components all done and now in for detailing .Some big bits to do like chargecooler system but I did take delivery of a 1/4 of the brake kit on Sat ..... :Ass_Kick :MoreSarc

Lol :D maximum polish :) very pretty!

Pity we had to use the 2.5ltr manifold, revised injectors would have been pointing in the wrong place otherwise, nay mind, those adapter plates are now a feature! ... Well, when the engine cover is off :geek: Nice work though Lee, will look pretty...

Cool. What happened to the 610 manifold? If you or martin aren't using it is it up for grabs?

Cheers,

John.

Did it look ok outside? Was it crunchy?
It's looking like they all have this, unless they haven't been allowed out in the wet....

Hi,

How do you go about re-joining the sill to the car as you cant get to the back of it to glassfibre it? Do you just thin the section and glass on the outside instead?

I haven't got a huge amount of experience with fibreglass but i guess that will change in the coming weeks!!

PM Stunned Monkey on this forum, he subcontracted the welding for my car out to a guy he used, he might be able to help as my sills had to be cut away to do the work also

Sills are carefully cut in sections .We then re-attach using metal strips behind which are bonded and rivetted to join the sections .Must have done about half a dozen like this and then the Fieldmouse paints and you'd never know and never need to do it again ......

Nice work Lee. I'm sure it'll be invisible once it's all glassed / filled in.

Of course if you're Porsche you'd just leave them exposed....
