Renault- Alpine race series- just dreaming up ideas

Was flicking through a book and found this picture from Japan:



How great would a Renault- Alpine all comers race series be. After all, plenty of these cars sitting around doing nothing. Not a hotly contested championship, more of a gentlemans driver and enthusiast event- more about competing than winning. Maybe set the peg at all cars more than 10 years old.... maybe just 3 or 4 races a year so no massive financial stretch. Just dreaming I know.

Great idea Mark.. Was hoping to see something just like this for Origine RS at Goodwood this year..! With the interest we've had to date, there is no reason to think we wont be able to get similar pictures!!

think we can just see a GTA bringing up the rear there on the bend in the distance.... no doubt trailing a cloud of steam and oil.

its not the shortage of cars preventing this from happening, more the shortage of driver/ owner willing to take the plunge and use the cars for the purpose they were designed for.

I decide whats in and whats out! Group N is in, the GTA's at the back need someone to race with.

in the long list of dellboy projects..... he could get it ready pronto and run it in the hscc touring car championship..... put the right driver in it, then it would be worth a good wedge..... once it has had the exposure.... Renault would probably want to buy it back if they saw it out racing again .... Ching Ching
