Colours of the Avantime

Postby Williams » Sun Oct 09, 2011 1:25 pm

What were they?

What colours were originally used on the Avantime. Please give more detail other than just 'blue' or 'red'

Was it Illiad Blue?

Was Petrol Blue ever used?

Thanks in advance, Shaun

Hi Shaun dose this help :?:

211 STEPPE (M) a kind of greenish silver
266 GRIS ACIER (M) dark grey
268 NOIR NOCTURNE (M) a dark violet - the "German colour", not available in Italy
267 NOIR NACRE DORE (M) black - was only available for a short period.
544 BLEU TIBETAIN (S) dark blue, looks almost like 268
296 VERT SCARABEE (M) dark green
432 BLEU METHYL (M) medium blue
274 ROUGE DE MARS (M) medium red
549 BLEU ILLIADE (M) blue, - the "original" colour when the Avantime was first presented
H97 VERT TAIGA (M) an outrageous but quite suitable green to the trendsetting Avantime

Why do you need to know, is it to be used as a V6 outing bus

Perfect.. thanks Miles!

A v6 functions bus would be a great move.. lol. But on this occasion, no, its to help work out what colours were in use at Dieppe to aid solve a difference of opinion on Cliosport.. of all places lol. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?603737-Unique-colour-ph1

Just so I can give a more 'informed' responce.. ;)

Thanks again! Hope you're all well!

John, the Avantime's were made at Dieppe I believe, as were the Renault Sport Clio's. Stands to reason that the specialist paint shop at Dieppe would use some of the same colours to the cars produced/assembled there.

The debate on CS is regarding the colour of this 172. [urlhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-CLIO-172-2-0-SPORT-MET-BLUE-2000-MODEL-/260861396288?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cbc8d0540#ht_786wt_1189[/url]

It 'should' be Odyssey Blue, but some think it's not. It may well not be, but I think it's more likely to be a trick of the light and camera that makes it look different.

What do you guys think?

I don't think that is correct, the Avantime is a Matra product. I am sure they are made elsewhere in central France.

That is to say there is no direct link between Alpine and Matra.

Oh..! Sorry.. I thought they were made in Dieppe..? Is it the Espace that was made at Dieppe then? I'm sure I saw or read somewhere that a MPV type of vehicle was built at Dieppe.

Matra made the avantime in Romorantin east of Tours. It was still a Renault product and as such some of the colours were considerd for other Renault models(ph1 v6 Clio).I have not looked at the pic but it is probably just a bad picture.

I have (did have) a Clio V6 (iliad blue) , Renault Spider (sports blue) and Avantime (iliad blue) that all looked a similar colour when parked next to each other but spider is a different code.

Bit off topic of the Aventime, but does anybody know the details of the apparently pearlescent Spider Blue (250?) and how to get a touch up kit for the stone chips on the nose?

Cheers

as far as i'm aware the only touch up stick you can still get from Renault for spiders is the grey 630 and there are several shades of that,

for the blue.... or any of the top colours you'll have to get a tin of base colour paint made up, contact Andy the painter he will be the best guy to help you .... andy001 on here
