What type of car insurance do GTA owners need?

Postby darrenbiggs » Mon Nov 08, 2004 4:52 pm

A question in the general section got me thinking about what type of insurance people require.

I use the GTA as my regular car so opt for a fully comp policy that has an agreed value fixed for my GTA but also doesn't restrict the mileage.

If we collectively knew what insurance people require it might allow for some discount or an actual dedicated policy with one of the brokers or insurance companies.

Maybe just wishful thinking but here goes.........

Hopefully I've covered the main options

Definately Option 2 if like me your speedo or odometer doesn't work properly (That's most GTA's then!)

Can be very cost effective 8)

All the ins. co.s I contacted wouldnt accept less than FC for a car valued at more than £5000 on a 'classic' policy. My odometer does work and I'm on a 3000 mile limited.....only cost me a couple of hundred quid and even if I get it wrong and go head first into a ditch or the back of a slow moving Ferrari  I get money!!!! Hopefully I wont exceed the 3000, tend to do shortish journeys in it and trailer it to races.
