GTA Europa-Cup at RATS

All too much talk about the new A110 so here's some proper old-skool Alpine shizzle.

RATS is the #1 full shop stop for anything GTA610

Now up and running on all pots with a full service and fuel system overhaul as there were quite a few disasters just waiting to happen there...... New brake hoses up front as originals were blocked solid.
It's very aggressive on boost with a good old turbo-lag kick in the asp. It would be good to go head to head with Ratty and see what's what.
I'll get a vid later of it in anger...It's all a bit too congested here during the week on the private dragst.. road

Gone over all the nuts, bolts and fluid systems and booked in for a track test next Sunday.

Channel some Whizzo, cross fingers and take it easy. Apart from brakes and arb mods it all looks pretty std. Std early Renix and injectors. I'm sure these have not seen any UK track action sinse the 80s

If anyone wants to tip up and support/looksee it's fine Good facilities with a cafe and warm places to hide if it's a bit inclement but forecast looks OK .

Unfortunately I'm stuffed this week work wise so can't come to watch. Hope you get some dry weather to have some fun in.

Weather is looking pretty damn good so hopefully we'll get some decent time in. I had a slight under fuelling issue after the re-fit caused by a fecked feed pipe to the main rear pump. Not much I could get to fit as it's telephone shaped hose and two sizes tank to pump but managed to get some bits to work......
If it was a BMW then I could have just rung the dealer and they'd get one in next day I'm sure ...Renault...you really do suck for support.

I've got another set of tyres and rubber to go on as the existing, whilst 'new' has got to be some 20 years old. The only other worry is the Vuvuzela tailpipe ....I'l just have to take it easy past the DB meter ...I think I know where it is... they say they've a few but I reckon there's just the one at the start straight.

Ready to go. Locked and loaded for tomorrow. Weather looks ace so pop along for a nose if you fancy a trip out to see a real Ecup in action.

It went well enough but no suprise it didn't like being pushed hard so a few more jobs to do on the engine running side and nothing dramatic. Random cut-outs when pushed so either more fueling issues ( doubt it's that but making a couple of changes) or heat degradation of TDC or coil/controller .

Brakes, handling etc all seem OK but you wouldn't want to clip many kerbs in it as it's solid as Ashford and Simpson

I think I'm the only one since Whizzo to drive one in the UK so in good company
It's a shame my involvement with it's owner and other issues have meant this is all a bit of a non event on here as it could have been a good 'Club' event. Weather was ace and lots of other stuff to see on track.

Proof it actually made it off trailer, on track and back on trailer again in one piece.

Had this on the rolling road Tuesday after some fettles and it seems it's running OK. Got it very hot and no cut-outs.
Pretty good figures considering it's a tired old lump and turbo and minimal mods.
