1984 Turbo2 - 1979 Giro d'Italia replica in Japan

Came across another interesting find - - 1984 Turbo 2 - replica of prototype of Guy Fréquelin and Jean-Marc Andrié - car #598 in the 1979 Giro d'Italia. The car of was imported from Europe in 1989; shows a little over 100k km on the clock and obviously needs some recommissioning.

Anyone recognize this car from it's days in Europe?
