It was short last time they saw me (well number 4) so leaving it long + sunglasses would be a better disguise 8)

For those CAR members amongst us, the CAR September newsletter has just been published. The chairman's note specifically mentions Croix on the front page and the lack of A110s campared with the abundance of GTAs and 610s.
Maybe it is time to think about an appearance at the AGM?

New members are listed as normal, 3 GTAs a 160 and 1 A110. Is this telling the committe something too?

Isn't it the case that once someone owns an A110 they usually hang on to it. So you'd always expect there to be few 'new' 110 members joiing ?

My personal experience in tryring to make offers for A110s is nobody wants to part :(

What's the club make-up in numbers look like as that's more relevant to the 'shape' a club should take isn't it ??

I think the longer time goes on the more GTAs will be accepted. Renault arent producing new Alpines so those 'young uns' will be more accepted as time goes on. A110s are great and I would love one, but I bet every year their numbers are dwindling. If you really want one they do come up for sale.......at least 2 on Ebay this year alone and thats without the classic car mags. Things will change....the GTA is starting to look aged compared to modern cars and thats when the likes of AROC will start to accept it. Obviously the more that are written off the better (it could be me! ) as they will become rarer!

Make up is usually approaching 200 GTA / A610 / Le Mans Owners out of 300ish.

Andrew will know the exact figures if he reads this so may be able to correct me if I'm miles out.

So a fairly high proportion of GTA owners.

I'm still waiting for C.A.R. to print my letter announcing this web-site.

Nine months on and once again no mention in the newsletter. Thanks guys!!

I'm now waiting to hear the outcome of the Committee Meeting on Sep 26th where my request was due to be discussed.

Even the French Berlinette Magazine has found the time to mention my site, but it's too much trouble for C.A.R.

Probably won't bother rejoining this year as a result.

Rant Over 8)

I have also not bothered renewing my CAR membership this year. I have got far more out of this site than 9 years of CAR membership.

Cheers

Stephen

Surely the answer to your dilemma is to be proposed as a commitee member of CAR. With the amount of GTA members and the success of your site being unanimously accepted then you cannot fail to be voted in. If you resign as a member you can have no impact on the CAR at all . As the saying goes 'theres wheels within wheels' its not wheels without wheels'
Your time has come to lead your people you cannot fail them now!
